About The Artist

Jenny showed her talent in art at a very young age, there was never a piece of paper free from her busy hands. Her family described her drawing skills as being a human copy machine. Graduating in 2003 with a B.A. in Fine arts from Bridgewater State College she learned that she had other areas of interest in the world of art. She showed a great eye for photography and has a photojournalist style. Jenny prefers to capture the moment rather than trying to force a shot. "Sometimes you get lucky and just end up in the right place at the right time, I tend to wander around and something will catch my eye. That's usually where my best work comes from. Portraits are really about patience you can't force a look, the moment just has to happen for me."

She has an attention to detail that is an obsession. You will find in her drawings that even the slightest stroke was created with tender care and that all her photos have been carefully thought out. Painting became a way to release her emotions and thoughts. “I’ve never claimed to be a painter. My work is abstract, idealized but not always as sharp as I’d like it to be. I paint to express myself and tell a story. The viewer may not exactly understand what I’m going through at the time but they can clearly tell there are messages and metaphors with in the scene I have created.” Most of these messages have been kept a secret but the artist has let out one secret, if you see a long haired female form it’s a good chance it’s a situation that she has or is dealing with.

While experimenting in ceramics she created a limited number of pieces mainly focusing on her senior project which was an abandoned insane asylum called Danvers State Hospital. The “Castle On The Hill Series” is the artist’s interpretation of what she experienced while wandering  the now silent hallways. There are drawings, paintings and four ceramic buildings. “The architecture of this landmark inspired me just as much as the history behind it. When you walked through the buildings, some which where quickly deteriorating you still could sense a presence with in it. There were places that gave me chills down my spine. I wanted to show what I saw. It’s an artist’s perception, it is meant to be morphed, deformed and dark. I believe I succeeded with this series.” All pieces from this series are currently for sale.

Jenny is a local south of Boston artist. She is quickly forming a portfolio of photography of many places around the United States, local musicians, and many beautiful nature shots.
